Greens Chairman's Communication

Latest Update - 02 April 2009

Greens Chairman's Report - March 2009

Although poor weather conditions has curtailed the amount of golf played this winter, the programme of work for the

Greens Staff has continued and all being well the major items will be completed by the 1st April 2009.

Holes 5 and 6

Work on the drainage is near completion, this will only leave the work on the mound and pathway from the 5th tee.

This should also be useable by the 1 April 2009, although it will remain "Ground Under Repair" until the turf has taken.

The proposed bunkers to the right of the 6th fairway will have to be created at a later date.

The "Viewing Platform" from the 6th tee will be re-sighted in the near future.

Hole 12

What was to be an open drain in front of the Green to allow the water to clear will now be a proper construction.

Drainage will be constructed from the right hand bunkers across to the ditch and the bushes on the left, again this is to be completed by the 1st April 2009.

Putting Green

This will be verti-drained and top fed around the 3rd week in March. This should give the Putting Green the uplift it need for the season.

Divots

Where the Starters Hut was sighted by the first tee, the brickwork will be fitted with poles and hooks on which will hang divot bags so that players can assist in the upkeep of the course.

All of the tees are to be seed divoted and certain areas of the fairways will also be treated.

150 Yards Marker

These are to be remeasured accurately and clearly marked prior to the first competition of the season.

G.U.R. and O.O.B.

These are being more clearly defined and will be remarked regularly

Pathways

A number of pathways are to be trimmed of trees / weeds and resurfaced.

This work will be done as soon as is possible.

Winter Tee Mats

The need for better quality mats on 6 tees has been noted and hopefully new ones will provided for next Winter.
